Adidas Originals is taking the trend

Flatforms are all the rage this season and adidas Originals is taking the trend to the next level with the Superstar Bold. The design of the ’70s model is unchanged, still boasting the classic Three Stripes on the lateral and its infamous rubber shell toe. Where we spot something new is the sole which has been transformed into a three-inch flatform. The added rise takes the model from regular to regal.We’ve seen the adidas superstar Boost in White and Black, so you knew it was only a matter of time before we saw it in a Black and White finish. That time has come and today we give you a first look at the shoe.

The popularity of retro sneakers has been one of the driving forces behind adidas superstar mens remarkable growth streak over the past couple years. They’ve perfectly matched up with the market’s appetite for sports-inspired products that are as much about fashion as performance.But the German brand’s vault of decades-old designs isn’t its only strength in this area. Adidas has also been introducing new designs in its lifestyle-focused Originals business that are finding a growing number of customers. The company is banking on them to help keep its sales high as demand for retro styles runs its course.

Earlier this week adidas superstar womens officially announce an update to the flagship Superstar model with integrated Boost technology called the adidas Superstar BOOST. Quietly a completely redesigned Superstar model featuring Bounce and Primeknit technology started arriving at retailers this weekend. While the Superstar Boost keeps most of the original architecture of the shoe, the Superstar Bounce gets a brand new sole and a Primeknit upper. The shelltoe is kept nearly intact but with out it this can very much be a whole new model. But then it would loose all of the heritage that comes with the classic Superstar.

According to research firm NPD Group, the simple, shell-toed retro style was the best seller by dollar sales last year in the US, the world’s largest sneaker market.The US is currently in the midst of a major retro trend that helped sales of a few different styles on NPD’s list, including Nike’s Jordan XII, which debuted during Michael Jordan’s incredible 1996-1997 season. Adidas was also the top brand overall in 2016. Adidas’s broader success and the retro surge combined to push the Superstar to the top.
